It is 50 dg here today so I walked up to Grandma Kimballs' house. Couldn't sit on front porch as they put the bench away. Guess they don't want visitors today. I will try another day. Beautiful day for a walk on the streets of Nauvoo.

Christmas in our apartmet.

We received lots of Christmas Greetings which brought a lot of joy. Received a special card from an old friend I haven't heard from for over 10 years. I got Sally's number and gave her a call last night. Fun.

This was our Christmas present to each other. Isn't it simply elegant.

Our Christmas tree was given to us by one of the Cotrells who went home. Notice the train on the table. It says Peterson. Plants are from the Post Office backroom where missionaries put things they don't want any more. I get a lot of things there for free. My latest is a red tea pot to heat water up for hot chocolate.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent thinking about Mom and her birthday along with Christ. We sang on the front steps of the Temple in the snow. It was a warmer night and so much fun to be out there singing and looking over the statue of Joseph and Hyrum and the Mississippi River. Great memories.

We were going to Omaha to visit Mark and Jen's family for Christmas, but the weather was not good so we spent it here having the Nauvoo Christmas experience. Great experience but missed the family.

Elder Wells was our driver. After dinner on Sunday we went for a ride to see lights.

Christmas Breakfast

We went for a walk in the snow and ended up here at the Ord's home. That is me with blond hair. All that food and we just had breakast. Such nice neighbors. Ham, breads, fruit, hot chocolate and real hand dipped chocolates.

Christmas Day 2010

Christmas dinner at the church with the site missionaries. Pork, peas, applesauce, salad and dessert. They had paper links for each grandchild. We are pictured by our contribution. The Temple Missionaries had 346 and the site missiomaries had over 1,000.

After we went over to the Wells house to play games with Howards and Baughs. I didn't come in last.

Christmas Weekend in Nauvoo 2010

Monday was a quiet day. The river was frozen. We cooked traditional Danish dinner for 2. We also feed the birds and Gary took pictures from inside our cozy home. Thank you Sister Evans for the bird feeder and food. It has brought lots of birds and lots of joy.

Two families came to Nauvoo for Thanksgiving. Mark and Jen (driving 5.5 hrs) and Walter and Amber (driving from Georgia about 16 hr. We had a lot of fun in those two days. Here we are at the Visitors Center for the tree lighting ceremony.
